Abstract :
Purpoe
To tudy the characteritic of viual field progreion in patient with normal-tenion glaucoma (NTG) with optic dik hemorrhage.
Deign
Obervational tudy.
Method
Fifty-eight eye of 58 untreated patient with NTG who had at leat five reliable viual field of the Humphrey Field Analyzer (central 30-2) within the follow-up period of more than 24 month were enrolled. Of thee, 27 eye had optic dik hemorrhage in their clinical coure. Pointwie linear regreion analyi wa done uing total deviation value of the field at each of 74 tet location in each patient. Progreion wa defined a the point of negative lope with P < .01. A whole viual field wa concentrically divided into three cluter: the area within 10 degree, 10 to 20 degree, and 20 to 30 degree. Percentage of the progreed point of the three cluter and a whole field were compared between the group with and without optic dik hemorrhage.
Reult
No ignificant difference were found in patient’ background, including initial mean deviation value, follow-up period, and the number of viual field examination between the 27 patient with optic dik hemorrhage and the 31 without. The group with optic dik hemorrhage howed ignificantly higher percentage of progreed point within the 10-degree area compared with the group without optic dik hemorrhage (mean ± D: 13.1 ± 13.7%; 5.1 ± 8.5%, repectively; P = .0086, tudent t tet), wherea no ignificant difference were found in the other two cluter or in a whole field.
Concluion
Patient with NTG with optic dik hemorrhage tend to how viual field progreion in area within 10 degree.
