pontaneou reolution of a hallow detachment of the macula in a highly myopic eye

Purpoe To report a cae of pathologic myopia with hallow detachment of the macula and anatomic reattachment after pontaneou poterior vitreou eparation. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 66-year-old woman with pathologic myopia preented with decreaed viion of 20/400 in her left eye. Biomicrocopy howed myopic chorioretinal change, poterior taphyloma, and a hallow macular elevation. Optical coherence tomography wa performed at the initial and follow-up examination. Reult Initial optical coherence tomography revealed a retinal detachment, retinochii, and incomplete poterior vitreou detachment. One and one-half year after the initial viit the patient’ bet-corrected viual acuity improved to 20/200, and optical coherence tomography dicloed macular reattachment, releae of vitreou adheion, and retoration of normal retinal tomographic appearance. Concluion pontaneou reolution of chronic hallow detachment of the macula in highly myopic eye may occur and can be attributed to pontaneou poterior vitreou detachment.
