Purpoe To preent a treatment option for highly myopic eye developing retinal detachment over a poterior taphyloma. Deign Interventional cae report. Method Par plana vitrectomy with peeling of the internal limiting membrane and ga tamponade; no laer retinopexy. Reult Retinal reattachment with marked viual improvement. Concluion It appear that the rigid internal limiting membrane i reponible for the retina’ inability to conform to the poterior taphyloma. Intraoperative finding ugget that thi rigidity may alo play a role in ubequent macular hole development.
