Abstract :
Purpoe
The preent tudy i a preliminary invetigation of whether frequency doubling technology perimetry (FDT) performance deficit exit in adult with reading diability (RD) and could thereby interfere with creening aement for glaucoma.
Deign
Cro-ectional.
Method
The tudy population wa compoed of 46 college tudent. Twenty-four of the participant were identified a having a RD, and 22 erved a control. All participant underwent aement of reading, IQ, FDT, Humphrey Viual Field (HVF), and an ophthalmologic examination.
Reult
No difference between the RD and control group were found in age, education, IQ, far viual acuity, HVF, or FDT performance, regardle of how FDT wa evaluated (P’ > .05).
Concluion
Preliminary reult indicate that FDT performance deficit, which have previouly been demontrated in children with RD, are either mall in magnitude or do not exit in adult. Thu, it i unlikely that RD will interfere with aement for glaucoma uing FDT perimetry
