An unuual preentation of herpe zoter ophthalmicu: orbital myoiti preceding veicular eruption

Purpoe To preent a cae of orbital myoiti aociated with herpe zoter ophthalmicu. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 47-year-old woman with acute retrobulbar eye pain and diplopia preceding the veicular rah of herpe zoter ophthalmicu wa evaluated and treated. Reult Magnetic reonance imaging howed enlargement and enhancement of extraocular mucle conitent with an inflammatory myopathy. Following acyclovir and prednione treatment, all ymptom reolved, and neuralgia did not develop. Concluion Herpe zoter may caue ymptom and ign of orbital myoiti before eruption of cutaneou kin leion and thu hould be conidered in the differential diagnoi of an acute orbital myoiti
