Abstract :
Purpoe
To quantitatively analyze the anterior chamber depth (ACD) in patient with pupillary block and plateau iri yndrome.
Deign
Retropective, conecutive, obervational cae erie
Method
We meaured the ACD in 318 eye of 318 patient who had been diagnoed by ultraound biomicrocopy a having either pupillary block or plateau iri yndrome. Pupillary block patient were all preiridotomy and plateau iri patient were all potiridotomy. Anterior chamber depth wa meaured axially from the internal corneal urface to the len urface uing the ultraound intrumentʹ internal meauring capability.
Reult
The mean ACD in patient with plateau iri yndrome (n = 181) wa ignificantly maller than the hypotheized normal ACD (2.04 ± 0.30 mm v 3.0 mm, P = .0001). The mean ACD in patient with pupillary block (n = 137) wa alo ignificantly maller than the hypotheized normal ACD (2.17 ± 0.30 mm v 3.0 mm, P = .0001). The mean ACD in patient with plateau iri yndrome wa ignificantly maller than the ACD in patient with pupillary block (2.04 ± 0.30 mm v 2.17 ± 0.30 mm, P = .001).
Concluion
Review of the literature ugget that patient with plateau iri have a normal or deeper axial ACD compared with pupillary block. Thi tudy found that the ACD aociated with plateau iri yndrome i hallower than normal and alo hallower than in pupillary block.
