Abstract :
Purpoe
To decribe a patient with occluive, retinal vaculiti and concomitant, confirmed, acute Wet Nile viru (WNV) infection.
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
Main outcome meaure included comprehenive ophthalmic examination with fluorecein angiography, color photography, and erologic teting for WNV and t. Loui encephaliti (LE) viru including plaque reduction neutralization teting (PRNT).
Reult
A 46-year-old woman developed a udden decreae in viion in her left eye 2 week after confirmed WNV infection and demontrated multiple, mall, patchy area of retinal edema with cattered microaneurym. Fluorecein angiography howed multiple branch artery occluion with extenive nonperfuion. erologic titer for WNV were poitive for acute infection. Plaque reduction neutralization teting confirmed WNV infection and excluded t. Loui encephaliti viru infection. Other etiologie of occluive vaculiti were not preent.
