Laminated poterior vitreou cortex aociated with idiopathic macular hole

Purpoe To report an unuual preretinal opacity aociated with an idiopathic macular hole (MH) that wa identified by optical coherence tomography. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 59-year-old woman with a preretinal linear opacity running acro an MH wa examined by optical coherence tomography. Reult Optical coherence tomography howed a full-thickne MH with a uperiorly hinged flap. The preretinal opacity wa identified a a part of a laminated vitreou cortex that wa perpendicularly attached to the apex of the flap. A horizontal can howed a partly double-layered poterior vitreou cortex. Two month later, the linear opacity diappeared coincident with a complete poterior vitreou detachment. The MH wa cloed by vitrectomy with peeling of the internal limiting membrane. Concluion Optical coherence tomography identified an unuual ophthalmocopic preentation of a preretinal opacity a a part of laminated vitreou cortex aociated with a “can-opener” MH.
