Limitation of oppoing duction following augmented horizontal rectu mucle tranpoition

Purpoe To report the effect on duction in oppoing gaze following augmented horizontal rectu mucle tranpoition to treat cyclovertical mucle palie. Method Record review of 5 patient who underwent augmented horizontal rectu mucle tranpoition for treatment of vertical gaze mialignment econdary to cyclovertical mucle paly. Reult Duction in the direction of the palied mucle improved in all patient. Four patient (80%) developed ignificant limitation of vertical gaze in the direction oppoite that of the palied mucle. Concluion Augmented tranpoition urgery for vertical mucle paly can produce coniderable limitation of duction in the direction oppoite to that of the paralyzed mucle.
