Abstract :
Purpoe
To report long-term (>5 year) ucce of non-penetrating filtering urgery in glaucoma due to elevated epicleral venou preure.
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
A 25-year-old woman developed evere glaucoma due to elevated epicleral venou preure. Nonpenetrating filtering urgery (opening of the chlemm canal and reection of corneal troma overlying the trabecular mehwork and Decemet membrane) wa performed with mitomycin. Three month later, the mehwork wa perforated ab interno by neodymium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laer via goniolen (goniopuncture).
Reult
There were no complication, and no glaucoma medication were ued potoperatively. Intraocular preure ranged from 10 mm Hg to 18 mm Hg during the firt 4 month and thereafter between 6 mm Hg and 12 mm Hg.
Concluion
Glaucoma due to elevated epicleral venou preure, an entity aociated with ignificant trabeculectomy rik, can be afely and uccefully treated with non-penetrating filtering urgery followed by goniopuncture (taged trabeculectomy).
