Impreion cytology in the diagnoi of acanthamoeba keratiti with urface involvement

Purpoe To evaluate the ue of impreion cytology in the diagnoi of Acanthamoeba keratiti with urface involvement. Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Three patient with culture-proven uperficial Acanthamoeba keratiti were tudied. Patientʹ medical record were reviewed for clinical information, treatment procedure and dieae coure. Impreion cytology pecimen taken from the cornea of thoe patient were proceed and oberved by bright field microcopy. The main outcome meaure wa the cytopathological examination and identification of amoebic organim. Reult In each of thee three patient, impreion cytology pecimen revealed the amoeba cyt. ome pecimen alo howed pleomorphic trophozoite with typical amoeba nuclei. Concluion Corneal impreion cytology uccefully detected the cyt and trophozoite of Acanthamoeba from patient with uperficial amoeba keratiti. Thi indicate that impreion cytology can be a ueful technique to facilitate early diagnoi of Acanthamoeba keratiti with urface involvement.
