Ue of the RetCam 120 for fundu evaluation in uncooperative children

Purpoe To report our experience uing the RetCam 120 to evaluate upected retinal pathology in children who did not cooperate for tandard in-office examination. Deign Interventional cae erie. Method We reviewed chart of eight conecutive uncooperative children with upected fundu abnormalitie that were photographed uing the RetCam 120 a a routine part of patient care. Reult Three uncooperative children with upected pathology required RetCam 120 photo becaue of inadequate fundu examination. Five had pathology or upected pathology that required more detailed examination. In all of thee children, we were able to reach or rule out a diagnoi. Concluion The Retcam 120 digital fundu camera ha utility a an in-office diagnotic tool for fundu examination of poorly cooperative children and may be a good alternative to examination under anetheia or edation in elected cae.
