Abstract :
Purpoe To report a ide effect of quinacrine therapy for malaria. Deign Cae report. Method Review of clinical chart and photograph. etting Private retina practice. Reult A patient developed a bilaterally ymmetric bullʹ-eye maculopathy 45 year after taking quinacrine for 18 month a prophylaxi againt malaria. Progreion of the clinical picture wa documented over 15 year of follow-up. The clinical picture wa identical to that of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine maculopathy. Concluion Low doage of quinacrine ued for malaria prophylaxi can be aociated with a delayed, evere maculopathy inditinguihable from chloroquine maculopathy in certain patient.
