In-the-bag intraocular len dilocation

Purpoe To decribe the preenting characteritic and management alternative of poterior chamber intraocular len (PC-IOL) dilocation econdary to dehicence of the zonule upporting the capular bag. Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Multicenter retropective analyi of the urgical treatment and predipoing factor aociated with 25 eye of 22 patient with dilocation of the PC-IOL encaed within the capular bag econdary to dehicence of the zonule upporting the capular bag. Reult The dilocated in-the-bag PC-IOL wa replaced with an anterior chamber intraocular len in 60% or repoitioned/exchanged and cleral fixated in 40% of eye. Aociated condition included peudoexfoliation yndrome 44%, uveiti 16%, and trauma 16%. There wa no identifiable caue in 24% of eye. Concluion In-the-bag PC-IOL dilocation are an unuual, ometime bilateral, late complication of cataract urgery that can be managed by exchange with an anterior chamber intraocular len or by PC-IOL repoitioning or replacement with cleral fixation. The mot common aociated condition wa peudoexfoliation.
