  • Abstract
    To invetigate the ocular manifetation of patient with evere acute repiratory yndrome (AR) and to monitor the poible ocular complication ariing from the treatment regimen with high-doe ytemic corticoteroid drug. Deign Propective, obervational cohort cae erie. Method Ninety eye from 45 patient with the diagnoi of AR during an epidemic outbreak in Hong Kong were analyzed. Relevant medical and ophthalmic hitorie were taken. Ophthalmic examination, including bet-corrected viual acuity, intraocular preure, lit-lamp, and indirect ophthalmocopy examination, were performed at baeline and at 2-month and 3-month follow-up. etting Faculty practice in univerity hopital. Reult Only two patient had mild elevated intraocular preure at baeline and at ubequent follow-up. There wa no lo of viual acuity, cataract progreion, or increaed cup–dik ratio. Fundu examination were unremarkable in all patient. Concluion Our tudy did not demontrate any ocular manifetation in patient with AR. The treatment regimen of high-doe corticoteroid alo did not how any ignificant ocular complication. Routine ocular creening of patient with AR for diagnoi or for complication might not be indicated.
