Acute bilateral vitreo-retinal hemorrhage following oxygen-ozone therapy for lumbar dik herniation

Purpoe To decribe a cae of acute bilateral intraocular hemorrhage occurring after injection of oxygen-ozone (O2O3) mixture. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 45-year-old woman complained about acute bilateral viual lo after intradical and periganglionic injection of ga mixture (O2O3) for lumbar dik herniation. Detailed ophthalmologic examination; magnetic reonance imaging (MRI) of brain and pinal cord; and neodymium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Nd:YAG) laer membranotomy in the left eye wa performed. Reult Ophthalmocopy revealed a premacular hemorrhage involving the left macula. In the right eye multiple, flat, retinal hemorrhage around the optic dik and the poterior pole were oberved. The MRI can for intracranial hemorrhage wa unremarkable. Drainage of the left premacular hemorrhage by puled Nd:YAG laer wa obtained a few week later. Concluion Retinal hemorrhage eem to be an uncommon but ignificant complication of intradical O2O3 infiltration, and we ugget that it hould be carefully conidered when recommending thi procedure.
