Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide for the treatment of cytoid macular edema econdary to Behçet dieae

Purpoe To evaluate the afety and effectivene of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide in patient with cytoid macular edema (CME) aociated with Behçet dieae. Deign Interventional cae erie. Method Ten eye of 10 patient with CME from Behçet dieae made up the tudy population. All eye had peritent CME depite medical treatment for at leat 2 month. Intravitreal injection of 4 mg (0.1 ml) of triamcinolone acetonide wa offered to treat macular edema. The viual and anatomic repone were oberved. Reult At 1-month follow-up, a reduction in mean foveal thickne of 37.4%, from 416 μm to 260.5 μm, wa attained. At 3-month follow-up, mean foveal thickne wa 286.2 μm and at 6 month, 263.7 μm. No eye had lot viion at 1 month, and eight eye (80%) howed improvement in viual acuity. At 3-month and 6-month follow-up, three eye (30%) remained table and the other eye had maintained the improved acuity. Concluion Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide i a promiing therapeutic method for CME from Behçet dieae.
