Hitopathological abnormalitie in ocular blood veel of CADAIL patient

Purpoe To ae hitopathological finding in patient with cerebral autoomal dominant arteriopathy with ubcortical infarct and leukoencephalopathy (CADAIL). Deign Cae report and hitopathological evaluation of enucleated eye. Method Four eye from two CADAIL patient were enucleated at autopy and prepared for hitopathological analyi uing light and electron microcopy. Reult Thickening of arterial wall with fibroi, eoinophilic Periodic acid chiff-poitive baement membrane material and lo of vacular mooth mucle cell (VMC) in the central retinal artery and it branche, the leptomeninge, the ocular adnexa, and the optic dik were oberved. On electron microcopy, numerou depoit of granular, omiophilic material in arterial wall a well a VMC and pericyte degeneration were noted. In contrat to retinal veel, the choroid wa not affected. Concluion Our finding ugget a differential involvement of mall blood veel in CADAIL, depending on the angioarchitecture and upport autopy data of nervou tiue decribing that lo of VMC i mot pronounced in tiue depending on blood-tiue barrier.
