Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate hitopathologic ign of conjunctival inflammation in patient with conjunctival hyperemia induced by bimatoprot treatment.
Deign
Propective interventional tudy.
Method
The tudy included 15 eye of 15 patient cheduled for cataract urgery. Patient in the treatment group (n = 9) exhibited trace to moderate conjunctival hyperemia when treated with bimatoprot 0.03% every day for 15 to 30 day before urgery. The control group (n = 6) included untreated patient with no ocular dieae other than cataract. Conjunctival biopie were obtained for hitologic evaluation with light microcopy.
Reult
Vacular congetion wa oberved in biopie from 7 patient (78%) in the bimatoprot group and 5 patient (83%) in the control group. ign of inflammation were found in biopie from 2 patient (22%) in the bimatoprot group and 2 patient (33%) in the control group.
Concluion
Hitopathologic ign of inflammation were no more frequent in conjunctival pecimen from bimatoprot-treated patient with trace to moderate hyperemia than in thoe from untreated control ubject.
