Abstract :
Purpoe To evaluate the reult of macular tranlocation with radial choriocleral outfolding in patient with ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization (CNV) and to identify factor aociated with decreaed potoperative viual acuity. Deign Retropective interventional cae erie. Method Twenty-even conecutive patient with urgically treated ubfoveal CNV were operated on and followed for more than 2 year. Macular tranlocation with radial choriocleral outfolding wa performed uing titanium clip. urgical outcome including viual acuity, foveal diplacement, urgically induced atigmatim, and complication were recorded. Factor aociated with decreaed viual acuity potoperatively were identified by multiple logitic regreion analyi. Reult Foveal diplacement ranged from 349 to 3391 (median, 1576) μm. urgically induced atigmatim ranged from 0 to 3.0 (median, 0.5) diopter. Viual acuity after urgery improved in 19 of the 27 patient (70.4%; median, 5 line), but in 14, final viion ultimately decreaed from the bet potoperative level. Final viual acuity improved from the preoperative level in 11 patient (40.7%), remained unchanged in even (25.9%), and decreaed in nine (33.3%). In our erie, the mean preoperative viion wa 20/174, the bet potoperative viual acuity wa 20/74, and the mean final viion wa 20/167. Factor aociated with a decreae in potoperative viual acuity included the potoperative enlargement of CNV. Concluion Macular tranlocation with radial choriocleral outfolding improved or tabilized the viion in 66.7% of patient with ubfoveal CNV over the coure of more than 2 year. Cloing the CNV or preventing it further growth i required to maintain a better potoperative viual acuity
