Abstract
Purpoe
To report our experience with intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide (IVTA) injection for the treatment of ight-threatening vitriti.
Deign
Interventional cae erie.
Method
Three patient with acute evere exacerbation of noninfectiou panuveiti and vitriti were treated with IVTA injection alone or a an adjunct to ytemic immunouppreive agent.
Reult
Rapid clearance of the vitreou inflammation with improvement in viual acuity wa oberved 1 to 2 week after injection. The effect lated 2 to 6 month, with the hortet duration in the vitrectomized eye of Patient 1. Repeated injection were required in all patient.
Concluion
Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide may be beneficial in elected cae of vitriti. Thi treatment modality ha a rapid effect and may lower the ue of ytemic agent.
