Purpoe To report the ucceful ue of topical cyteamine formulated from the oral preparation in the treatment of evere photophobia from corneal crytal depoition in cytinoi. Deign Interventional cae report. Method Retropective chart review. Reult An 8-year-old boy with nephropathic cytinoi wa experiencing debilitating and worening photophobia from corneal crytal depoition. Becaue no parenteral cyteamine wa available nationally, the oral capule wa ued to formulate an ophthalmic preparation for compaionate ue. After 8 month of topical application, the patient ha marked improvement of hi corneal dieae, both ubjectively and objectively. Concluion In ituation of need, there i a role for the formulation of ophthalmic cyteamine from it oral preparation.
