Abstract
Purpoe
To examine potoperative poitional tability of myopic phakic intraocular lene (IOL).
Deign
Propective, nonrandomized clinical tudy.
Method
The tudy included 46 eye which received an anterior chamber angle-upported (Bauch & Lomb NuVita; 10 eye), anterior chamber iri-fixated (Ophtec Artian; 20 eye) or ciliary ulcu–implanted phakic IOL (taar ICL; 16 eye). The ditance between the phakic IOL and the crytalline len and the cornea a well a rotation around the optical axi wa evaluated uing cheimpflug photography at 1, 3 to 6, and 12 month poturgery.
Reult
The anterior chamber phakic IOL howed no ignificant movement in anteropoterior direction. The poterior chamber phakic IOL howed a ignificant movement toward the crytalline len between potoperative month 3 and 12. The median amount of rotation around the optical axi between the 3- and the 12-month evaluation wa 1.9 degree (range = 0.0–33.5 degree) for the NuVita, 0.6 degree (range = 0.0–3.5 degree) for the Artian, and 0.9 degree (range = 0.2–2.3 degree) for the ICL. Four NuVita IOL rotated more than 10 degree.
Concluion
The angle-upported anterior chamber phakic IOL howed a generally table poition regarding ditance to cornea and natural len, but rotation wa oberved in four IOL. The iri-fixated phakic IOL howed the highet overall tability. The poterior chamber phakic IOL wa table in term of rotation but had a tendency to decreae in ditance toward the crytalline len. Intraocular lene implanted in phakic eye followed for 12 month demontrate table IOL poition overall.
