Abstract
Purpoe
To review 244 cae of orbital tumor to determine pathologic finding in Japanee patient.
Deign
Obervational cae erie.
Method
We tudied the pathology and origin of tumor in the orbit in 244 conecutive Japanee patient with orbital tumor at our intitution from 1981 through 2002 (age 0 to 90 year, mean, 48.7 year; 114 men, 130 women).
Reult
The mot common tumor were lymphoproliferative dieae (n = 114, 42.5%), including malignant lymphoma (n = 59, 24.1%) and reactive lymphoid hyperplaia (n = 45, 18.4%), pleomorphic adenoma (n = 21, 8.6%), and cavernou hemangioma (n = 18, 7.4%).
Concluion
The incidence of lymphoproliferative dieae, epecially malignant lymphoma, wa very high in Japanee patient.
