Factor influencing tereoacuity outcome in adult with acquired trabimu

Purpoe Functional improvement of binocular viion after trabimu urgery in adult are common but not well undertood. In a propective tudy, factor aociated with tereoacuity outcome in patient with trabimu acquired following binocular viion maturation were invetigated. Deign Propective data collection. Method Twenty-three patient aged 14 to 85 year with acquired trabimu were enrolled. Random dot tereoacuity wa quantified uing a battery of tet including the Randot Prechool tereoacuity tet, the Randot (verion 2) hape tet, and the Randot Butterfly tet. Reult Ninety-ix percent of patient achieved meaurable tereoacuity following ucceful eye realignment. Better median tereoacuity i achieved in patient with the following characteritic: ≤12 month of contant trabimu (60 v 400 econd of arc with >12 month’ trabimu, P < .001); a preurgical capacity for fine to moderate tereopi (60 v 400 econd of arc with coare or no meaurable tereopi, P < .005); a preurgical capacity for macular fuion (60 v 400 econd of arc with no meaurable macular fuion capacity, P < .001); and poturgical orthotropia (100 econd of arc) or intermittent orthotropia (100 econd of arc v 2000 econd of arc with 5 to 8 prim diopter (PD) of poturgical reidual trabimu, P < .05). Concluion urgical correction of acquired trabimu i aociated with recovery of tereopi. Factor aociated with tereoacuity outcome include duration of trabimu and preurgical binocular viion capacity. A poturgical correction of orthotropia or intermittent orthotropia upport better tereoacuity than a larger reidual angle of trabimu ubtending up to 8 PD of deviation.
