Delayed uprachoroidal hemorrhage and factor VIII deficiency

Purpoe To decribe the clinical coure of a 52-year-old white man with previouly undiagnoed hemophilia who uffered blunt trauma to the right eye with conequent delayed, pontaneou uprachoroidal hemorrhage. Deign Obervational cae report. Method The patient’ clinical coure from the time of trauma to potenucleation i dicued and correlated with B-can ultraonography and hitopathology. Reult The patient developed recurrent hyphema, delayed choroidal hemorrhage with detachment and eventually lo of the eye. Hematologic evaluation etablihed a diagnoi of mild factor VIII deficiency. Concluion Depite mild hemophilia, thi patient had not experienced any clinically important morbidity until hi eye injury. Ophthalmologit hould be aware that bleeding diorder uch a hemophilia predipoe patient to pontaneou intraocular hemorrhage.
