Macular hole econdary to epiretinal membrane in a juvenile patient

Purpoe To report a macular hole econdary to an idiopathic epiretinal membrane in a 14-year-old girl. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 3-year-old girl who failed a public viual-creening tet wa examined. ince then, he had been followed-up for her epiretinal membrane, which began to peel pontaneouly in the left eye for 11 year until a macular hole wa oberved. he wa treated by vitrectomy and membranectomy, and the membrane wa hitologically examined. Reult The macular hole wa uccefully cloed, and her viual acuity improved. The membrane appeared to have a homogenou tructure and contained no cell. Concluion The juvenile idiopathic epiretinal membrane ometime peel pontaneouly. However, long-term follow-up i needed becaue vitreou traction of the membrane by intraocular aging change may reult in a macular hole
