Phthii bulbi caued by late congenital yphili untreated until adulthood

Purpoe To report a cae of phthii bulbi reulting from late congenital yphili untreated until adulthood. Deign Obervational cae report. Method We report clinical and laboratory evaluation of a 43-year-old woman who preented with a palpebral ulcer of the right eye. Reult The patient had a gummatou palpebral ulcer and a phthii bulbi in the right eye and a gumma on the left eyelid. A ilent intertitial keratiti of the left eye wa detected. The patient had hearing lo in the right ear, her noe wa miing, and her right leg had been amputated. Treponemal pallidum hemagglutination (TPHA) tet wa poitive. Although we adminitered intenive oral penicillin, the clinical ymptom of the patient did not improve. Concluion Thi i a rare cae of phthii bulbi reulting from late congenital yphili. We emphaize that treatment for late congenital yphili mut be carried out early and completely.
