Abstract :
Purpoe
To help the ophthalmologit who wihe to know the perfuion tatu of the retina outide the macula, we determined whether clinical examination can predict capillary nonperfuion in diabetic retinopathy (DR) a accurately a fluorecein angiography (FA).
Deign
Propective obervational cae erie.
Method
etting: Clinical practice. tudy population: Both eye of 20 patient with clinically ignificant diabetic macular edema (CME). obervation procedure: The location of capillary nonperfuion wa recorded following 90-diopter len lit-lamp biomicrocopy, and the ame meaurement made on FA. main outcome meaure: In the naal and temporal quadrant of each eye, the clinical reult were compared with the “gold tandard” FA.
Reult
Mot patient (84%) had definite peripheral capillary nonperfuion. Biomicrocopy reult were highly correlated with angiography, with only a few difference of clinical importance.
Concluion
Clinical examination can determine the location of capillary nonperfuion in DR with a high degree of accuracy.
