Abstract
Purpoe
To report the formation of pigmented membrane on acrylic intraocular lene (IOL) after phacoemulification and to determine the clinical characteritic of thee pigmented membrane.
Deign
Obervational cae erie.
Method
Four eye of three patient were found to have pigmented membrane on their acrylic IOL (enar AR40). Their medical record were reviewed.
Reult
The pigmented membrane were oberved at 4- to 9-month interval after phacoemulification. Their bet-corrected nellen viual acuity (BCVA) decreaed by more than 2 line, ranging from 20/63 to 20/40. After Nd:YAG laer treatment, BCVA improved 2 to 4 line. At 5- to 12-week interval after Nd:YAG laer treatment, recurrence of the pigmented membrane were oberved with decreaed BCVA.
Concluion
We have oberved viually ignificant, recurrent, pigmented membrane formation in eye implanted with enar AR40 acrylic IOL. To the bet of our knowledge, pigmented membrane on acrylic IOL have not been decribed previouly.
