Purpoe To evaluate the probability of a ingle intraocular preure meaurement to be the highet meaurement within a diurnal intraocular preure profile. Deign Hopital-baed clinical, obervational tudy. Method The tudy included 3,025 day-and-night intraocular preure profile meaured on 1,072 eye of 547 Caucaian glaucoma patient or glaucoma upect. Applanation tonometry wa performed at 7 am, noon, 5 pm, 9 pm, and midnight. Reult Intraocular preure meaurement were highet at 7 am, noon, 5 pm, 9 pm, and midnight, repectively, in 20.4%, 17.8%, 21.3% 13.9%, and 26.7% of the profile, repectively. The meaurement taken at 7 am wa ignificantly (P < .001) cloet to the maximal value of the profile. Concluion Any ingle intraocular preure meaurement taken between 7 am and 9 pm ha a higher than 75% chance to mi the highet point of a diurnal curve. Intraocular preure may be meaured at different time of the day to have the bet chance of oberving the maximal value.
