Electrolyi for Corneal Opacitie in a Young Patient with uperficial Variant of Granular Corneal Dytrophy (Rei-Bückler Corneal Dytrophy)

Purpoe To report the efficacy of electrolyi a a treatment of corneal opacitie in a young patient with the uperficial variant of granular corneal dytrophy. Deign Interventional cae report. Method An 11-year-old boy preented with ubepithelial opacitie in both eye. Hi viual acuity wa 0.2 in the left eye; he received corneal electrolyi under topical anetheia. Reult The electrolyi, which required only 5 minute, reulted in the diappearance of the ubepithelial opacitie. Hi viual acuity improved to 0.4 on the next day and wa 1.0 eight month later. The corneal curvature and thickne were not altered by the electrolyi. Concluion Corneal electrolyi proved to be an effective treatment for ubepithelial opacitie, and we recommend electrolyi a an effective and imple treatment for young patient with GCD.
