Abstract :
Purpoe To evaluate the effect of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide on erou macular detachment in eye with diabetic macular edema. Deign Interventional cae erie. Method The tudy population compried twenty eye of 20 patient with diabetic macular edema (12 men, eight women), aged 48 to 76 year. The eligibility criteria for thi tudy included clinically detectable macular edema in which the preence of erou macular detachment wa documented by optical coherence tomography. After intravitreal injection of 0.1 ml (4 mg) triamcinolone acetonide, viual and anatomic repone were oberved. Reult In all eye, after an injection of triamcinolone acetonide, macular edema and erou macular detachment regreed. At 3 and 6 month, macular edema and erou macular detachment had recurred in eight (40%) and nine eye (45%), repectively. Patient with recurrence were re-treated. No eye lot viion at 1 month, and all eye howed improvement. At 3 month, no eye had lot viion from baeline, and 17 eye (85%) howed improvement. At 6 month, again no eye had lot viion from baeline, and 16 eye (80%) maintained improved viual acuity. Concluion Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide i an effective treatment for erou macular detachment in patient with diabetic macular edema.
