Abstract :
Purpoe
To ae a new non-contact method for non-invaive meaurement of intraocular preure (IOP) uing near-infrared pectrocopy.
Deign
Experimental tudy.
Method
Eleven porcine eye were cannulated into the anterior chamber by a needle connected with a water column. Meauring the near-infrared pectrum in diffue reflectance out of the anterior chamber by near-infrared pectrocopy, IOP wa determined and compared with the height of the water column which wa varied between 0 cm and 100 cm.
Reult
In total, 363 near-infrared pectrometric meaurement value were obtained. Correlating the near-infrared pectrometric meaurement with the height of the water column howed a relationhip with a correlation coefficient of r2 = .858 and a teepne of the regreion line of .96.
Concluion
The reult of the preent pilot tudy ugget that near-infrared pectrometric tonometry may preent a new technology for non-invaive and non-contact IOP meaurement.
