Abstract :
Purpoe To decribe a cae with bullou keratopathy and anterior egment inflammation aociated with heavy liquid. Deign Obervational cae report. Method Review of clinical and hitopathologic change. Reult A 65-year-old patient underwent a par plana vitrectomy for a rhegmatogenou retinal detachment. Perfluorodecalin wa ued a a temporary retinal tamponade. After urgery, bubble of heavy liquid were noted in the anterior chamber. Fifteen month later, evere corneal edema developed, aociated with corneal vacularization and keratic precipitate. Removal of heavy liquid through a paracentei wa attempted but the cornea remained edematou, and a penetrating keratoplaty wa performed. In the hitopathologic examination inflammatory change from retention of perfluorodecalin were oberved. There wa a decompenated cornea with florid bullou keratopathy, inflammatory infiltration with vacularization, and depoition of perfluorodecalin within keratocyte and perivacular macrophage. Concluion Preence of heavy liquid in the anterior chamber may be aociated with an intene inflammatory repone and corneal decompenation.
