  • Abstract
    Purpoe To report canalicular tenoi a a ide effect of the new antineoplatic agent -1. Deign Interventional cae erie. Method Three patient who received -1 for treatment of gatrointetinal cancer at a tertiary cancer center were evaluated and treated for epiphora. Reult Two patient were found to have evere canalicular tenoi and naolacrimal duct blockage after approximately 6 month of -1 therapy. One patient underwent dacryocytorhinotomy with ilicone tube placement on one ide and dacryocytorhinotomy and Pyrex gla tube placement on the other ide. The other patient declined a urgical intervention. One additional patient with epiphora had punctal tenoi early in the coure of -1 therapy. Hi epiphora reolved after probing and irrigation and 4 week of topical corticoteroid therapy. Concluion Canalicular and naolacrimal duct blockage i a previouly unreported ide effect of -1 and hould be recognized and treated at it earliet poible tage o that complete cloure of the canaliculi can be avoided.
