elective Laer Trabeculoplaty a a Replacement for Medical Therapy in Open-Angle Glaucoma

Purpoe To evaluate elective laer trabeculoplaty (LT) a a replacement for medical therapy in controlled open-angle glaucoma. Deign Propective, non-randomized, interventional clinical trial. Method LT wa performed inferiorly in 66 eye of 66 patient with medically controlled primary open-angle glaucoma (OAG) or exfoliation glaucoma, and no hitory of glaucoma urgery. The primary outcome wa number of medication at 6 and 12 month while maintaining a pre-determined target intraocular preure (IOP). Reult The mean of the difference in medication from baeline wa 2.0 (95% confidence interval = 1.8–2.3) at 6 month, and 1.5 (1.27–1.73) at 12 month (P < .0001). The group mean of medication wa 2.8 ± 1.1 at baeline, 0.7 ± 0.9 at 6 month, and 1.5 ± 0.9 at 12 month (P < .0001). Reduction in medication wa attained in 64 of 66 eye (97%) at 6 month, and 52 of 60 (87%) at 12 month. Concluion LT enabled a reduction in medicine in controlled OAG over 12 month
