Abstract :
Purpoe To determine the agreement between the aement of retinal digital image by uing an overlay tranparency heet and the Heidelberg retinal tomograph (HRT) in determining cup-dik ratio greater than 0.6. Deign Diagnotic tet comparion. Method Computerized topographic and monocopic digital image of the optic dik of 628 people aged 70 to 79 year were aeed. A grader (M.C.) defined the dik margin on HRT image, and the operation oftware computed the area cup-dik ratio. The ame grader alo determined whether the vertical cup-dik ratio on retinal image wa greater than 0.6 by uperimpoing a tranparency overlay heet over the image. Finding of a econd grader (J.G.F.) were ued to etablih reliability meaure. Reult The intragrader reliability for the overlay method and HRT wa almot perfect (intracla correlation coefficient [ICC] = 0.96 and 0.99, repectively), wherea the intergrader reliability wa good (ICC = 0.77 and 0.92, repectively). A perfect agreement wa found on 28 (85%) of 33 eye between the overlay and HRT method in determining cup-dik ratio greater than 0.6. Concluion The overlay tranparency method appear to be a reliable and promiing alternative in determining cup-dik ratio greater than 0.6 in a community creening etting.
