Purpoe To report a cae of polycytic echinococcoi of the orbit caued by Echinococcu oligarthru. Deign Interventional cae report Method A 14-year-old girl preented with a maive proptoi of the right eye of 9 year duration and lo of viion. The eye wa phthiic, and a cytic ma wa palpable. Computed tomography can howed cloely packed multiple orbital cyt with detruction of the medial orbital wall. urgical exploration wa performed. Reult The phthiic eye wa enucleated. Diection of the outer fibrou capule yielded approximately 30 intact tranlucent white cyt of variou ize that were uggetive of polycytic echinococcoi. The diagnoi of echinococcoi wa confirmed on hitopathologic evaluation. The pecific diagnoi of E oligarthru wa made on the bai of the preence of traight-backed hook and central guard. Concluion Polycytic echinococcoi of the orbit caued by E oligarthru i rare. It may be an entirely new entity or hitherto unrecognized form of orbital echinococcoi.
