Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a patient with a ignificant amount of ocular coma-like aberration that wa caued by the tilting of an intraocular len (IOL) who wa treated uccefully by IOL repoitioning urgical procedure.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
At the Department of Ophthalmology, Univerity of Tukuba, a 52-year-old man complained of unclear and ditorted viion in hi left peudophakic eye. The tilt and decentration of IOL were meaured with the cheimpflug videophotography ytem. Ocular and corneal wavefront aberration were meaured with the Hartmann-chack aberrometer.
Reult
The tilting angle wa 28.87 degree, and decentration wa 1.78 mm. The ocular coma-like aberration wa increaed remarkably to 0.451 μm at 4.0 mm aperture diameter, and the imulated retinal image of a Landolt ring wa blurred ubtantially. Ocular pheric-like, corneal coma-like, and corneal pheric-like aberration were not increaed. The IOL repoitioning urgery ignificantly improved the IOL tilt, which reulted in the reduction of ocular coma-like aberration, recovery of imulated retinal image, and reolution of the patient’ complaint.
Concluion
Major IOL tilting induce a large amount of ocular coma-like aberration, which deteriorate the patient’ quality of viion.
