Purpoe To determine whether there i an aociation between gene expreion profile and looping extravacular matrix pattern in primary uveal melanoma. Deign Laboratory invetigation. Method Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded ection from 22 primary uveal melanoma that previouly were analyzed by microarray gene expreion profiling were tained for periodic acid-chiff and cored in a maked fahion for the preence of looping extravacular matrix pattern. Reult A trong aociation wa oberved between looping pattern and the unfavorable cla 2 molecular prognotic ignature (P < .001). Concluion Looping extravacular matrix pattern occur almot excluively in cla 2 uveal melanoma. Thi finding may provide new inight into the pathogenei and management of uveal melanoma.
