The Effect of ubtenon Triamcinolone Acetonide Injection for Diabetic Macular Edema on Retinal and Choroidal Circulation

Purpoe To evaluate change in retinal and choroidal circulation after ubtenon triamcinolone acetonide (TA) injection for diabetic macular edema. Deign Propective interventional cae erie. Method Thirteen eye of 13 patient with diabetic macular edema were tudied. Fluorecein and indocyanine green angiogram were performed at three period: before the injection and 1 week and 6 month after ubtenon injection of TA (40 mg). Retinal arteriovenou paage time (a an indicator of retinal circulation) and choroidal τ (a an indicator of early filling velocity of choroid) were obtained with image analyi oftware. Reult Choroidal τ value before and 1 week after ubtenon TA injection were, repectively, 3.2 ± 0.4 and 4.0 ± 0.7 econd, which howed a ignificant delay (P = .01, Wilcoxon igned-rank tet). The delayed choroidal τ value returned to pretreatment level at 6 month after TA injection. In contrat, the arteriovenou paage time remained unchanged. Concluion ubtenon TA injection traniently influence choroidal blood flow.
