Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada Dieae in Patient With Chronic Hepatiti C

Purpoe To report the cae of four patient with hepatiti C viru infection who experienced clinical feature that are virtually identical to Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada dieae (VKH). Deign Retropective obervational cae erie. Method Medical record of patient who were referred between January and December 2003 were reviewed for diagnoi and management of VKH and who alo had chronic hepatiti C viru (HCV) infection. Reult Four white patient had the clinical feature of VKH. Three of the patient experienced intraocular inflammation while they were being treated for HCV infection with pegylated interferon alpha 2b and ribavirin. The intraocular inflammation reponded to ytemic corticoteroid treatment and to dicontinuation of antiviral agent. Concluion Although the number of patient who were tudied i limited, there appear to be an aociation between HCV infection that wa treated with pegylated interferon alpha 2b and the development of VKH-like dieae. Further tudie are required to confirm uch an aociation.
