Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate whether central corneal thickne influence the development of optic dik hemorrhage in chronic open-angle glaucoma.
Deign
Propective obervational clinical tudy.
Method
The tudy included 390 eye of 223 white ubject with chronic open-angle glaucoma oberved during a mean follow-up time of 61.3 ± 36.4 month. Central corneal thickne wa meaured by corneal pachymetry.
Reult
The event of optic dik hemorrhage during follow-up wa detected in 63 eye (16.2%). Development of optic dik hemorrhage wa, univariately (P = .73) a well a in a multiple Cox regreion analyi, controlling for age, ex, normal tenion glaucoma, intraocular preure, neuroretinal rim area, and ize of beta zone of peripapillary atrophy, tatitically independent (P = .56) of central corneal thickne.
Concluion
Development of optic dik hemorrhage may not be markedly influenced by central corneal thickne.
