Abstract
Purpoe
To invetigate the fundu autofluorecence (FAF) imaging finding in patient with erou and druenoid pigment epithelial detachment (PED) aociated with age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Deign
Obervational cae erie.
Method
Fourteen eye of 13 conecutive patient with erou (n = 10) and druenoid (n = 4) PED were propectively included.
Reult
In all cae of erou vacularized (n = 7) and avacular (n = 3) PED, the FAF ignal wa increaed, correponding to the area of detachment. In druenoid PED, the FAF wa either increaed or decreaed. The decreaed ignal wa recorded in cae aociated with pigmented clumping.
Concluion
Thee finding are ueful for a more detailed phenotyping of patient with PED aociated with AMD. FAF may derive not only from lipofucin, but alo from other ource, uch a ub-retinal pigment epithelium fluid.
