hort-Term Intraocular Preure Trend Following Intravitreal Pegaptanib (Macugen) Injection

Purpoe To report the change and trend in intraocular preure (IOP) following intravitreal injection of Pegaptanib (Macugen) for the treatment of exudative age-related macular degeneration. Deign Retropective chart review. Method Review of 79 patient who underwent 122 conecutive Pegaptanib injection. Analyi of the hort-term effect of Pegaptanib injection on IOP wa performed. Reult Baeline mean IOP wa 15.73 ± 3.41 mm Hg (mean ± tandard deviation) with a range of 9 to 27 mm Hg. Potinjection mean IOP wa 24.47 ± 6.29 mm Hg with a range of 8 to 36 mm Hg. Mean IOP change from baeline to roughly 30 minute after Pegaptanib injection wa 8.74 ± 7.23 mm Hg. At the 5- to 7-day follow-up viit, IOP had normalized. Concluion Pegaptanib injection in thi limited erie eem to be afe from an IOP tandpoint in the hort-term. IOP monitoring potinjection may not be neceary.
