Repeated Intravitreal Triamcinolone Injection in Behçet Dieae That I Reitant to Conventional Therapy: One-year Reult

Purpoe To determine whether repeated intravitreal triamcinolone (IVTA) injection in patient with Behçet dieae that i reitant to conventional therapy will prevent recurrence of uveiti. Deign Propective preliminary clinical trial. Method Nine eye of five patient with Behçet dieae with ight-threatening uveiti that wa reitant to conventional therapy received repeated IVTA injection. Each patient wa examined monthly, and IVTA wa given when the TA particle that remained in the vitreou were judged to be gone before the next viit. Reult Repeated IVTA completely prevented the recurrence of uveiti in eight eye, and the one eye that had an attack experienced the uveiti when the TA particle diappeared quicker than expected. It wa poible to top ytemic corticoteroid and/or immunouppreive agent within 1 year after IVTA in three patient. Concluion Thee reult indicate that repeated IVTA will prevent the recurrence of uveiti in patient with Behçet dieae with frequent ocular attack that i reitant to conventional therapy.
