Comparative tudy of Cerebral Blood Flow in Patient With Normal-tenion Glaucoma and Control ubject

Purpoe To evaluate regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) in normal-tenion glaucoma patient (NTG) compared with normal volunteer (control) in a pilot tudy. Deign Obervational cohort tudy. Method The Iodine-123-IMP ingle photon emiion computed tomography (PECT) can were acquired in 31 NTG and 18 age-matched control. The PECT image in NTG were claified and the quantitative rCBF data were compared with control. Reult even of 31 NTG (22.6%) exhibited an Alzheimer’ dieae (AD)-like perfuion pattern although none of them were clinically diagnoed with AD. The viual field defect of NTG with an AD-like pattern progreed more rapidly than NTG with a normal pattern (P = .132). The rCBF in left parietal region of NTG with enile clerotic or focal ichemic dik wa ignificantly lower than control (P < .05). Concluion A number of NTG exhibited an AD-like perfuion pattern, uggeting that ome of NTG and AD patient might have a common pathologic mechanim.
