Abstract :
Purpoe
To invetigate the tear and ocular urface finding between control, children, and adult with atopic keratoconjunctiviti (AKC).
Deign
Propective comparative tudy.
Method
Twenty eye of 10 childhood-onet, 10 eye of five adult-onet, AKC adult patient, and 12 eye of ix children with infantile-onet AKC, 14 eye of even normal adult and even normal children were recruited. Corneal aetheiometry, chirmer tet, tear film break-up time (BUT), vital taining, and conjunctival impreion cytology were performed.
Reult
The chirmer and Roe Bengal core in childhood-onet adult AKC patient were coniderably wore than adult-onet adult AKC patient, pediatric ubject, and the control (P < .05). The ame ignificant relation wa oberved in impreion cytology parameter.
Concluion
Ocular urface dieae in childhood-onet adult AKC patient wa characterized by greater ocular urface epithelial damage. Prolonged inflammation may be important in the evolution and progreion of ocular urface dieae in patient with longtanding active AKC.
