Abstract :
Purpoe
To tudy whether topical ibopamine effectively increae the intraocular preure in patient with ocular hypotony after vitreoretinal urgery, uveiti, or penetrating trauma.
Deign
A propective randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, croover tudy.
Method
In ten patient with ocular hypotony, an ibopamine 2% olution or placebo eyedrop wa adminitered at 8 am and frequent applanation tonometry wa performed during 10 hour on 2 day, 2 week apart.
Reult
The mean IOP integral after adminitration of ibopamine wa 2.4 mm Hg higher (95% CI for median difference in AUC over 480 minute [P = .010]) compared with placebo.
Concluion
The reult of the tudy how that an ibopamine 2% eyedrop twice a day may increae the IOP for a period of over 8 hour in patient with hypotony.
